Bio: Adrienne Bankert is an Emmy and Edward R. Murrow Award-winning correspondent for ABC News, Good Morning America, World News Tonight, and Nightline. She reported live from Chiang Rai, Thailand, during the rescue of thirteen boys and their soccer coach as the world watched the historic rescue. She traveled to London to cover the Royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and was the first network journalist to report live from the scene when several police officers were massacred in Dallas, Texas in 2016. Her compelling interviews from guests that range from wounded warriors to celebrities including Lady Gaga, Bradley Cooper, Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and more have gained widespread attention. She has worked in local news in Sacramento, Dallas-Fort Worth, and in Los Angeles as a host, anchor, health and wellness, and general assignment reporter.

His work has also been published in multiple anthologies, plus venues such as The New York Times, School Library Journal, Strange Horizons, English Journal, Rattle, Translation Review, and the Journal of Children's Literature. In 2017, David was inducted into the Texas Institute of Letters.

Emmy Pérez, Texas Poet Laureate 2020, has lived in the Texas borderlands for the past 20 years, the first six in El Paso where she has family roots before she moved to McAllen where she currently lives. She is the author of the poetry collections With the River on Our Face (University of Arizona Press) and Solstice (Swan Scythe Press). A volume of her New and Selected poems is forthcoming from TCU Press. Through Pérez's Poets Laureate Fellowship, her reading is made possible in part by the Academy of American Poets with funds from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

Poet, memoirist, and translator José Antonio Rodríguez is the author of, most recently, This American Autopsy: Poems, cited as "new and noteworthy" by The New York Times. His work has appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, The Nation, McSweeney's, POETRY, Paterson Literary Review, and Latin American Literature Today, among other publications.
His other books include the memoir House Built on Ashes, finalist for the PEN America Los Angeles Literary Award; and the poetry collections The Shallow End of Sleep, winner of the Bob Bush Memorial Award from the Texas Institute of Letters; and Backlit Hour, finalist for the Paterson Poetry Prize. He's also part of the collaborative book Borderlines: Drawing Border Lives, a collection of artwork by Reefka Schneider, poems in English by Steven Schneider, and Rodríguez's Spanish translations.

Bio: Natalia Sylvester is the author of two novels for adults, Chasing the Sun and Everyone Knows You Go Home. Natalia's debut YA novel, Running, is a 2020 Junior Library Guild Selection. Born in Lima, Peru, Sylvester grew up in South Florida and the Rio Grande Valley and received a BFA in Creative Writing from the University of Miami. Her next YA novel will be published in 2022 by Clarion Books/HMH.
